Certificate of Attainment in Modern Greek

Certificate of Attainment in Modern Greek (Ellinomatheia)

Holy Trinity Greek School is an official examination center for the Certificate of Attainment in Modern Greek (Ellinomatheia), organized by the Centre for the Greek Language under the Greek Ministry of Education. It is one of just 20 accredited centers across the entire United States.

This internationally recognized certificate is equivalent to the English “Lower” and “Proficiency” diplomas of Michigan and Cambridge and is offered at six levels (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, and C2), covering both oral and written exams.

The Ellinomatheia Certificate can be used in some U.S. states for college or university language credit, and is a valuable credential for careers in international or European organizations.

Exams take place in the second half of May at our school. Specific dates for each level TBA. To register, candidates must submit the following by March 1:
1. Application form (with name as on a valid ID)
2. Completed questionnaire (provided with the form)
3. Certified copy of a valid ID (passport, driver’s license, etc.)
4. Check payable to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church (memo: “Greek Certificate” & student name). Cost for Levels A1, A2, B1: $125 and for Levels B2, C1, C2: $140

Candidates may be tested in more than one level, and should indicate which level(s) they desire. Our examination center code is 10011

For those interested, preparatory classes are offered.
