2nd Divine Liturgies begin Sunday, February 22

Beloved Brothers and Sisters in Christ at Holy Trinity,

As our parish family continues to grow, it is important that we reflect together on the importance of order in our worship and liturgical life, and how this order serves not only practical needs, but also the theology and spiritual life of the Church.

In the Orthodox Church, worship is never random or improvised. From the earliest days of the Church, the Holy Spirit has guided the Church to worship “decently and in good order” (cf. 1 Corinthians 14:40). Liturgical order is not about control or firmness—it is about reverence, care, and love. Order protects the holiness of the Mysteries, allows each person to participate appropriately, and helps the Church pray with one heart and one voice.

As I shared previously, our parish has been blessed with significant growth, and with that blessing comes the responsibility to care pastorally for all who gather to worship at Holy Trinity. After prayerful discernment and consultation with the Parish Council, we will begin offering two Divine Liturgies on Sundays, beginning Sunday, February 22, 2026.

This decision is a response to growth—not a division of the community, but an expansion of our desire to pray together reverently and fully.

Pastoral Questions & Answers

Why are we offering two Divine Liturgies?
Because our parish has grown to the point where the church is often full, with many of our faithful parishioners standing in the narthex and aisle. Two Liturgies allow more space, greater participation, and a more prayerful experience for all.

Is one Liturgy “less” than the other?
No. Every Divine Liturgy is the same offering of Christ to His people. Whether celebrated in the Chapel or the Sanctuary, early or later, each Liturgy is fully the Eucharist of the Church.

Will this affect Church School or Coffee Hour?
No. Both Sunday Church School and Coffee Fellowship will continue as usual, at their regular times.

Is this a permanent change?
Currently, we are implementing this schedule pastorally and responsibly. We will continue to evaluate and adjust as needed, always with prayer and the well-being of the parish in mind.

This is a good and hopeful challenge to have. I ask for your prayers, patience, and cooperation as we take this step together. Let us remember that whether early or later, Chapel or Sanctuary, we remain one parish, one faith, one Body in Christ.

May the Lord who multiplies the loaves and fishes bless our community and guide us forward in unity and love.

With love in Christ,

Fr. Mark
