Holy Trinity YAL Charter

OUR VISION

To empower Orthodox young adults to deepen their faith and become the salt and light of the world just as Jesus preached to his disciples.

OUR MISSION

To serve Holy Trinity as a ministry of faithful young adults leading Orthodox lives in the world through worship, witness, fellowship, and service.

THE FOUR CIRCLES

Worship (Liturgia): Psalm 104:33 “I will sing to the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.”

First and foremost, as a ministry of the Church, we must be diligent in attending services. God reveals Himself to us through Holy Tradition and Scripture. Worship is a living expression of these. It connects us with the Saints who wrote these services and hymns. This is the cornerstone of our existence as Orthodox Christians.

Witness (Martyria): Matthew 5:16 “Let your light so shine for men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in Heaven.”

We must be witnesses of Christ in the world. Christ is the Light of the world. When we bear witness to the light, the whole world can be illuminated. Our words and actions as Orthodox Christians should reflect the light we aim to be in the world.

Fellowship (Koinonia): Matthew 18:20 “For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”

When we gather for services, meals, activities, events, and volunteering, we are united through Christ. At these gatherings, we must place Christ at the center.

Service (Diakonia): Colossians 3:23-24 “And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.”

We serve together to honor the Lord, not for our own personal reward. We have all been blessed by God with talents and it is our duty to use those talents for His glory.

MEMBERSHIP

The YAL ministry serves young adults ages 18-35. To be a member of the Holy Trinity YAL ministry, one must regularly attend services at Holy Trinity (worship), support the YAL ministry as well as other ministries of the Parish (service), gather together with the love of God (fellowship), and lead Orthodox lives within the world (witness). Members of this ministry are also strongly encouraged to be stewards of the Church. As a member of the YAL, you may participate in other YAL-sanctioned activities, such as, the Greek Dance Troupe.
